|
The following are Unorthodoxs loot rules. Exceptions may arise, but they will be few and far between. When attending a raid, you must know these rules and adhere to them.
* Master Looter will be set on all guild raids to prevent open rolling and encourage people to think carefully before choosing to roll/bid on an item. *
10-Man Raids
All 10-man raids within Unorthodox are handled with a tiered roll system and are not run on DKP.
Roll Eligibility
All items that are up for rolls will be handled under the following eligibility rules/order. If no one is interested in an item on tier then it goes to the next tier for rolls.
BoP Epics:
1) Members Main Spec: Any full member of the guild have first right of refusal to roll on any item for main spec. After winning one Epic item in Round 1 (BoE or BoP) members must roll in Round 2 for the remainder of the night.
2) Open roll: this tier includes Initiates/Initiate Alt, Member Alts, Alt Specs, Guests, and members that have already won one item.
3) If no interest then item gets Disenchanted and the crystals go to the guild bank.
BoE Epics:
1) Members Main Spec: Any full member of the guild will always have first right of refusal to roll on any item for main spec. After winning one Epic item in Round 1 (BoE or BoP) members must roll in Round 2 for the remainder of the night.
2) Initiates/Guests: raid participants that are not member status may roll for their current characters main spec.
3) If no interest then item goes to the guild bank.
Special Exceptions - Exceptions will be made when it comes to Raider / Member Alts vs. Initiates. At the Officers / Raid Leader's discretion, an Initiate may be given the ability to roll vs. the full Members. This will be allowed if the Initiate is nearing the end of his/her Initiate period and the decision is made that the Initiate, Guild and Raid would benefit from the item.
25-Man Raids
Unorthodox runs a Modified Zero-Sum DKP system for 25 man raids. Zero-Sum means that every point spent on gear during a raid equals the total of every point earned by the participants; modified means that we add in additional bonuses for participation.
A short summary of the system is: the character with the highest DKP is first in line, and items cost a set amount no matter how much DKP a character has accrued.
We chose this system after careful consideration and much deliberation. The goal of this system is to 1) incentivize the guild to progress deeper into end game content, 2) create a fair system for loot distribution based on participation, and 3) have that system be 100% transparent to the guild. The DKP site is accessible at www.unorthodox-guild.com/dkp.

IX. Wait List
I. General Rules
All DKP is awarded after the raid
DKP spent is deducted immediately after winning an item
Players are allowed to go negative on DKP
DKP is only earned, spent, and applicable in 25-man raids
II. Award Points
All raid participants will receive DKP with each Epic item drop and above. The total DKP value of an item is divided by the total number of raid participants and awarded after the raid.
Let's use a 2-boss kill night in Naxxaramas as an example. In this example Patchwerk drops 1 BoE and 1 BoP items and Anub'Rekhan drops 2 BoP items. The DKP awarded for each participant is calculated as follows:
Patchwerk
37.20 Hatestrike (BoP)
55.06 Boots of Septic Wounds (BoE)
92.26 Total DKP Spent
92.26/25 = 3.69 DKP Awarded to each raid participant
Anub'Rekhan
40.18 Thunderstorm Amulet (BoP)
40.18 Arachniod Gold Band (BoP)
80.36 Total DKP Spent
80.36/25 = 3.21 DKP Awarded to each raid participant
3.69 For Patchwerk loot
3.21 For Anub'Rekhan loot
6.90 DKP Awarded to each participant after raid ends.
III. Bonus Points
As an incentive for being a part of a progressing guild we have the following DKP Bonuses:
1 Signed up & On Time (see below for exact qualifications)
1 Wipe on a new boss capped at 5 DKP per boss per night (one not previously killed by Unorthodox)
2 1st Kill on a new boss (one not previously killed by Unorthodox)
Qualifications for On Time DKP Bonus
Signed up on Raid Ninja as "Possible" or "Standby" before the website automatic cutoff
NO LATER THAN 6:45pm be logged into your main
NO LATER THAN 6:45pm be in raid group
NO LATER THAN 6:45pm be at or summoned to the instance
Participate in first pull at 7:00pm (not botted by friend/significant other)
Please note that invites start going out at 6:30pm and we have 3+ GM's inviting and summoning non-stop, so the 6:45pm cut-off is easily doable. Exceptions may be made by the Guild Leaders on a case-by-case basis.
Continuing with the example from Section II, let's assume a player is signed up and on time, that would 1 bonus point on top of the 3.46 item drop DKP resulting in a total DKP of 4.46 for the night.
IV. Item Cost Formulas
In order to eliminate any human error, any bias towards certain types of items, or any inferred "bad" pricing, items are priced by formula:
DKP = quality_mod * slot_mod * item_level^2 / 1000
Variables used for this formula are as follows:
Quality Mod
1.42 Rare
1.64 Epic
1.86 Legendary
Slot Mod
1.00 Head 0.74 Hands
0.54 Neck 0.74 Waist
0.74 Shoulder 1.00 Legs
0.54 Back 0.74 Feet
1.00 Chest 0.54 Finger
0.54 Wrist 0.68 Trinket
0.50 1H weap 0.50 Offhand
1.00 2H weap 0.50 Shield
0.50 Ranged 0.40 Relic
To continue with the examples above, Hatestrike is calculated as follows:
DKP = (1.64 * 0.50 * 213^2 ) / 1000
DKP = (1.64 * 0.50 * 45,369) / 1000
DKP = 37,203 / 1000
DKP = 37.20
This allows pricing to closely follow Blizzard's itemization formula, while still having clear tier divisions between different levels of items. More specifically, the factor of 2 allows item prices go up by 56.25% for a 25% gain in power, and dividing by 2000 simply scales the values to keep them to a manageable level.
V. BoP Loot Rules & Bid/Request System
After a boss kill the Master Looter will link all the items in raid chat. Items will be available for purchase in order from lowest DKP to highest. The purchasing procedure will consist of three rounds:
1st Round: Members (Main Spec & Armor Class)
2nd Round: Alts, Initiates, Guests, Off Spec and Off Armor Class
3rd Round: Open roll before disenchanting (see Section IX)
The process for BoP items will work like this:
GM links items in raid chat along which officer to send tells to for each item. (Item1 tells to Officer1)
Members interested in purchasing an send a private tell to the appropriate officer expressing their interest.
Each Officer reviews the list of players, compares to current DKP and awards the item to the player with the highest DKP.
That DKP is deducted from the player's total.
If no Members are interested then requests are opened up to Alts, Initiates, Guests, and Alt Sets following the same private message system
Off Spec is defined as gear ideally suited to an alternate raiding role other than your main raiding role in Unorthodox raids. Items will be evaulated on a case-to-case basis.
Off Armor Class is defined as gear in an armor class below your maximum allowed armor class. Even if the gear suits your characters raiding spec it can be Off Armor Class. Specifically: Mail for Death Knights, Warriors and Paladins; Leather for Death Knights, Warriors, Paladins, Shamans, and Hunters; Cloth for Death Knights, Warriors, Paladins, Shamans, Hunters, and Druids.
We recognize this adds time to the loot distribution process, if you are not interested in loot then take this time for a breakand be sure to flag yourself AFK.
VI. BoE Epic Loot Rules
Beginning with Wrath of the Lich King raid bosses drop BoE Epic Quality items. The raid will receive full DKP value for these items. The distribution will be handled via DKP rules following the same rules as BoP items with these modifications:
3rd Round: If no members are interested for main spec it will be put in the guild bank.
Players on an alt character/spec at the request of the GM may bid on behalf of their main/main spec in the first round.
BoE epic items will be made available to members' main specs through the guild bank by DKP. If an item is available in the guild bank that suits your character's main spec send a tell to an officer who will allow you to purchase the item for DKP.
If two or more of one item are available in the guild bank they may be purchased for gold for off-spec or alt characters. Contact an officer to find out the current price for an epic item. Please note these prices are not fixed instead they are offered at discount from the current market value (AH) of that item.
Restrictions. There are two strict rules that must not be broken by any member regarding BoE epics:
NO resale on the AH
NO passing to another player
VII. Pre-DE Rolls, Disenchanting
In the event an item is not wanted the DKP will be awarded to the raid in the normal fashion and the DKP charged to the Guild Bank. The item will then be open for rolling for Off Spec sets ONLY.
The GMs reserve the right to review this distribution. If it is determined that a character is merely waiting out DKP requests to try and get a main spec item without spending DKP, the officers will take a vote in officer chat and the result will be told to the player in question. The player will then have a choice whether to spend the DKP or to pass to the player with the next highest roll. We don't expect this to be an issue, because we have a great guild, but I do want to encourage you to just use the frikkin DKP.
If no one wants the item and no one wants for off-spec then it will be disenchanted for the Guild Bank
VIII. Members, Alts, Guests & Initiates
Only main characters may sign up for 25-man raids.
DKP only accrues on main characters.
Alts may only be brought to the raid at the request of the GM.
In the event a different class is needed to fill a gap that night, the GM will request a raider to bring their Alt character.
DKP will accrue on the raider's main character
The Alt will have the opportunity to spend their main's DKP during the 2nd round of bidding, the Alt, Initiate & Guest round.
Initiates accrue DKP in all the ways Members do, including all bonus DKP
Guests accrue DKP in all ways except for On-Time DKP
IX. Wait List
As raids get bigger the need for a Wait List will eventually emerge. The Wait List will be utilized for characters standing by at the request of the GM's. Wait Listed characters are awarded 50% of all DKP earned by raid participants provided they meet the following requirements throughout the raid:
Have their character parked outside the instance, prepared, repaired, and geared
If requested to join you must zone in within 5 minutes of request
Respond to all tells at random intervals checking in on their readiness
Be available for the entire duration of the raid either in game (u may be on an alt) or on vent.
Please note there is no partial Wait List DKP. Players must be available and logged in for the entire duration of the raid in order to receive Wait List DKP. The only exception to this rule is if we ask someone to step out for someone else in order to fine tune the raid for a specific encounter.
Players may be on an alternate characters on the server. Both Members & Initiates may earn Wait List DKP if they are requested to wait by a GM. Alts may earn Wait List DKP (which is applied to the main character) only if the main character is not already inside the instance. (No double dipping!) Guests and Friend and Family may not earn Wait List DKP.
Item Classification / Distribution for 10 / 25 man raids
Blue Items (BoE) - You may collect only one blue BOE, for personal use, per raid unless said item will go unused by any other player. If no player will immediately use the BOE blue, it will be banked.
Blue Items (BoP) - You may collect only one blue BOP, for personal use, per raid unless said item will go unused by any other player. If no player will use the BOP item, it will DEd and banked by the guild to fund raids.
Green Items - Green items will be random greed rolled amongst all present. You may do whatever you like with the green items you win. There is no limit to the number of greens you can win on a raid.
Guild Banked Items - The guild bank is maintained by the Guild Leader (Marielle) and all loot / enchanting requests must go though GM, if they are not on, contact an officer who will then contact Xae.
And, as a general reminder - all loot rules can be changed at Officer / Leader discretion. |
